Bharata Mata College (Autonomous) is a nationally accredited first-grade arts, science and management co-educational institution of higher learning in the aided sector, under Bharata Mata College Educational Trust.
The global symposium on “The Future of Economics, Finance and Management in the cosmopolitan Era” jointly organized by Bharata Mata Institute of Management, Thrikkakara and Colombo University was inaugurated here on 24th April. Dr. H D Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor, Colombo university, in his inaugural address emphasized the need for more academic collaborations between the two countries. In the session presided over by Fr. Dr. Abraham Oliapurath, Managing Director, BMIM, Dr. Johnson KM, principal, Dr. B Hareendran, Academic Director, Dr. Bejoy Joseph Associate Professor and Dr. Devi Sekar spoke. The MoU between the two institutions were renewed during the session calling for more academic and research collaborations and exchanges. Further to the inaugural session, a panel discussion on “The future of Banks in the Cosmopolitan era” was conducted with Mr. Akshay Agarwal, Managing Director Acumen Capital as moderator and Mr. Anand Kuriakose, AGM – South Indian Bank and Mr. Mahadevan C R, Deputy Vice President – ESAF Bank as panelists. The conference hosted technical sessions on 24th and 25th April by Mr. Dinesh P Thampi, VP – Tata Consultancy Services and Mr. Senthil Devarajan, President (UK) – Kanini Software Solutions. 40 research papers authored by faculty and research scholars from universities across India and abroad were shortlisted and presented. Renowned Academicians and industry practitioners chaired the sessions.
